O Brasileiro

Brisbane CBD

Updated: Dec 30, 2020

O Brasileiro is a little slice of Brazil found in Brisbane's CBD dishing up authentic Brazilian fare for breakfast, lunch and dessert.

Found in the heart of the city on Adelaide Street, this South American eatery is a tropical respite with pale green feature wall, plenty of greenery and an exotic bird motif.

O Brasileiro

Open daily, breakfast fare ranges from acai bowls topped with fresh fruit, granola and honey, to smashed avo on sourdough (abacate no pao) and a Brazilian brekkie - bread roll with 2 eggs, ham, halloumi, requeijao (house made cheese spread) and 2 cheese breads.

Big Brazilian hearty lunches include plates piled with rump steaks (or chicken) served with rice, fries, farofa (toasted cassava), green salad and a bowl of slow-cooked brown beans. Popular options include rump strips topped with 4 cheese sauce, fried onions or garlic sauce.  Otherwise, there's escondidinho (cream of cassava filled with jerk beef, chicken or palm heart) and feijoada (slow-cooked black beans with pork, jerk beef, bacon and chorizo served with rice, kale, farofa and crispy pork belly).

Light eats include snacks like coxinha (shredded chicken and cream cheese), bolinha de queijo (mozzarella and cream cheese) and bolinha de carne seca (jerk beef with cream cheese) covered in dough, moulded and deep-fried.

Traditional desserts consist of brigadeiro (sweet ball of condensed milk and cocoa powder) pudim (caramel pudding with vanilla bean) and Romeo and Juliet - cheese cake with guava jam.

Drinks wise, there's O Brasileiro's signature coffee blend, house made iced tea, smoothies and soft drinks including Guaraná Antarctica, a Brazilian guarana-flavoured fizzy drink.
