Maude Wine Bar & Tapas
Coorparoo
Maude is a chic wine and tapas bar tucked away in a quiet little precinct of retro shops just off Coorparoo's Chatsworth Road.
Formerly Maude Cafe, the split-level wooden-floored venue has been beautifully transformed, with elegant white dining chairs, black banquette seating along one wall, art works and ambient gold lighting.
Customers can take a seat in the ambient interior or on the footpath outside and partake in a glass of wine some of the best tapas on this side of town.
The concise menu, designed to share, is a foodie's delight, starting with smaller plates like schiacciata (crispy Italian bread) served with truffled butter, marinated olives or cheese plate.
For something more substantial there's cheese arancini (aioli, caramelised onion, parmesan, truffle); heavenly salmon ceviche (charred corn, coriander, red chilli & corn tortilla); and golden calamari with sriracha aioli and salad.
Also highly recommended are the Greek meatballs (Persain feta, labneh & coriander salsa); as well as the lamb sliders (manchego, labneh, caramelised onion & roasted capsicum) and Hoki fish tacos (sriracha aioli & coriander salsa on corn tortilla).
There's also a selection of charcuterie (prosciutto, bresaola & capocollo), watermelon or caprese salad and delectable sweets like lemon meringue and tiramisu.
The wine list is really well priced, with wines from South Australia, NSW, New Zealand, Argentina, France and Italy available by the glass or bottle as well as a small selection of Spritz cocktails.
Need to know - There's plenty of free onstreet parking available nearby.
