Lune Croissanterie
South Brisbane
Lune Croissanterie, the renowned Melbourne bakery, has brought the 'finest croissants in the world'* to South Brisbane, where you'll find them in their open-plan industrial chic premise on the cusp of Fish Lane.
A first of its kind, Lune is an artisan bakery whose focus is on perfecting the classic croissant, as well as innovating to create new, delicious and exciting ways to enjoy croissant pastry.
Along with their range of signature plain croissants, customers can look forward to heavenly almond croissants, pain au chocolat and ham and gruyere croissants. A real treat are Lune's lemon cruffins (part muffin, part croissant) and their special European sweet pastry kouign-amann and there'll also be six pastries on rotation each month.
Lune's approach to producing croissants is very different to traditional techniques, inspired heavily by the founder Kate Reid's engineering background. Before transitioning to pastry and establishing Lune, Kate worked as an aerodynamicist for Williams F1.
It is this engineering mindset that influences everything at Lune, from pastry production, to process, service, and creating unique spaces for customers to buy their pastries.
*In 2016, Lune Croissanterie was featured in the New York Times, stating that Lune's may be “the finest croissants in the world".
Good to know - Lune started out life as a tiny shop in Elwood, VIC, 9 years ago. Today, they have 2 sites in Melbourne - the flagship store in a beautifully-restored warehouse in Fitzroy, and a second store in Melbourne’s CBD.
