The ever-popular Children’s Art Centre at GOMA is celebrating artist Mandy Quadrio at 'Art Box for Kids' these Spring School Holidays.

The exciting project invites children to discover the work of Trawlwoolway/Pairabeenee and Laremairremenner (Tasmanian Aboriginal) artist Mandy Quadrio, whose people have been using Tasmanian bull kelp as a material for thousands of years.

Mandy Quadrio’s hands-on activity, Paper Treasure Carrier, inspires children to create their own unique carrier out of paper to hold their special objects and treasures, inspired by a display of carriers from Tasmanian bull kelp made by the artist.

The kelp is used in many ways, including to make carriers to hold water, food or seeds. In the activity 'Paper Treasure Carrier', children are invited to create their own unique paper carrier to hold their special objects and treasures.
