ST JAMES CRABHOUSE BAR &  GRILL HAS CLOSED.

St James Crabhouse Bar & Grill at Hamilton is an original American-style crabhouse where you can get messy with bibs and gloves while tucking into succulent seafood.

The northside bar and grill can be found tucked away in the tree-lined dining precinct at Hamilton Harbour.

Diners can take a seat in the industrial chic interior with its striking street art on the wall or al fresco overlooking the golden fairly-lit trees.

Here is one place you get to leave your table manners at home and be prepared to get very messy with bowls of crab and seafood, delectable dipping sauces, and bread to mop it all up.

Choose from Australian blue swimmers, Alaskan King Crab, Spanner Crab, Queensland prawns, 2 pounds of South Australian mussels or the highly recommended Snow crab with a medley of seafood then select a sauce such as the delicious Baltimore (old bay, garlic and butter), Newport Marinara, New Orleans Cajun, Singapore Chilli or Citrus Beurre Blanc (lemon & champagne reduction). All of the above comes with a freshly baked baguette for mopping up or diners can go decadent with a garlic cheese baguette.

But you don’t need to be a seafood fan to get in on the action here, with American burgers (St James Original or Cheeseburger or a vegetarian Brooklyn Stack) on offer, as well as a selection from the Char Grill that includes Pork or Beef Short Ribs, Cape Grim 250g grass fed sirloin or Char grilled free range ½ chicken.

There are also salads and truffle or sweet potato fries, char grilled corn, onion rings and beer battered side winders to accompany.

And before getting down to the messy business, diners can start with the likes of sizzling garlic prawns, Captain Cheng’s pork belly, twice cooed wings or Alaskan mini crab cakes.

Keeping in with the American theme, desserts include Key Lime pie and American brownies.

Not just serious about seafood, St James Crabhouse is also serious about its wines, with a carefully curated list of interesting international and Australian boutique wines and will offer suggestions of wines and wine flights to perfectly accompany chosen dishes.

As well as a selection of Australian craft beers, you’ll find American beers such as Old Milwaukee (Los Angeles), Budweiser St Louis and Anchor Steam Ale (San Francisco), Chinese and German beers on the list.

St James Crabhouse is also open for lunch, with a menu that includes Seafood or Char grilled chicken jambalaya, St James salad and Lafayette lamb shank, Prawn Po Boy or toasted brioche rolls with shoestring fries and salad,

Nice to know – Children are accommodated here too, with a Kids menu of Chicken tenders with shoestring fries and ketchup, Cheeseburger with St James BBQ sauce or Pork Spare Ribs with shoestring fries.

Need to know – There’s off-street parking available along Harbour Rd. St James Crabhouse is located next door to Woolworths and across the road from Enjoy Inn.
