SABROSSO TACOS & TEQUILA HAS CLOSED IN 2022 AND BEEN REPLACED BY AN INDIAN RESTAURANT.

Sabrosso Tacos & Tequila is a cheap and cheerful Mexican cantina and bar that occupies the street front of Paddington Central (which by day is Café 107).

Mexican street art adorns the walls and tables are set with bright-coloured napiery and customers can opt to sit at bar tables or dining tables.

On the menu at this Tex Mex style eatery there’s a great range of dips for starters (tomatillo salsa, housemade guacamole, frijoles queso melted cheese blend and the chef specialty chilli con queso), available as single or combo (3). Otherwise Mexican tapas include queso frito (feta, chipotle mayonnaise and pineapple salsa) or ‘street style’ corn with cheese, chipotle aioli and lime.

From the Taco Bar diners can choose 1, 2 or 3 tacos, all served with sour cream, fresh lime and guacamole, with fillings of hickory smoked chicken, barbacoa slow cooked pork, shredded beef, panko crumbed fish, camarons grilled prawns or chorizo. Sabrosso also do a range of finger lickin’ delicious wings (Cajun, honey, Buffalo blue cheese, Sabrosso’s chilli or BBQ).

Main style meals include Enchiladas (choose your own filling and sauce), Quesadillas (shredded beef, smoky flavour chicken, smoked chorizo or vegetarian), Nachos, Burritos, Chimichangas (slow cooked beef or spicy pulled chicken) and Fajitas (steak in bbq sauce, chicken, garlic & chipotle prawns, refried mix beans or tofu crumble). There’s also Tostada El Grande - a crisp flour tortilla bowl topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, fresh salsa, guacamole, sour cream and rice (with a choice of beef, chicken, Mexican style pulled pork, cheese mix beans or tofu crumble), which comes recommended, or a salad (a Sabrosso original) served in a crunchy tortilla bowl) with the option of steak, shredded chicken or refried beans).

Meanwhile desserts include chocolate nacho cinnamon dusted tortillas with hot fudge chocolate sauce, Mexican doughnuts (churros), Kahlua iced coffee, ice cream sundae or chocolate fudge brownie.

For drinks, there’s Sangria (red, white or non-alcoholic) and Margaritas (traditional, sabrosso, pineapple jalapenos or strawberry) by the glass or jug a range of cocktails including Mexican Iced Tea (tequila, corona, lime and ice), Chiquita (vodka, banana and lime juice) and Mexicolada (tequila, coconut cream, pineapple and lime juice).

Beers include a couple of local craft beers on tap, a range of bottled beer from Mexico, Australia, USA and NZ, with beer buckets (6 cans or bottles) available.

Otherwise there’s a small selection of wines, soft drinks, milkshakes, siders and frappe as well as coffee and tea.

Nice to know – A kids menu is available and includes mini burrito or taco bowl and chips, mini nacho, chicken nuggets or mini fish and chips, Check their Facebook page for the nightly specials such as $1 Taco Tuesdays and offers for free entrees with wine, cocktail or beer orders.

Need to know – There’s plenty of free car parking onsite at Paddington Central (entry via Warmington St).
