Parched Brewery

West End

PARCHED BREWERY HAS CLOSED AND BEEN REPLACED BY BEER BARON CO.

Parched Brewery is quenching the thirst of lucky West End locals with a range of refreshing beers brewed onsite at its stunning multi-storey, microbrewery and bar.

Tucked away in a laneway off Rogers Street in West End, Parched has crafted 8 top brews with something for everyone from an easy drinking session ale The Pilot, and dry and crisp Mexican-style lager Mi Amigo Paraga, to a full-flavoured hazy IPA Brave New World, and a traditional, old world-inspired Irish red ale Smiling Eyes

Rounding out the taps are Tewy's Misery pale ale, The Old Enemy English IPA, Creaming Soda vanilla milkshake IPA, and Sunset Sour wild pomegranate soured ale.

For non-beer drinkers, there's a decent selection of boutique Australian wines including white, red and rosé, plus a top-shelf French champagne.

Spread out over two levels, there's plenty of space with picnic-style tables where you can settle in for an afternoon of beer sampling accompanied by tasty snacks, gourmet pizzas, and more substantial offerings.

The all-inclusive menu (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free) offers a range of bar bites such as southern fried buttermilk chicken with jalapeno maple and wasabi mayo, pineapple rum glazed tempura prawns, and finger-lickin' chicken wings marinated in a secret Korean bad ass sauce.

Alternatively, there's soft tacos filled with pork belly braised in adobo sauce, Middle Eastern spiced cauliflower or jackfruit, burgers (southern fried chicken, wagyu beef or slow-cooked brisket), and gourmet pizzas like I'm a Fun-gi (mushrooms, truffle, brie and napoli sauce), Beetza (beetroot hummus topped with roasted cauliflower, portabello mushrooms, deep-fried chickpeas and crispy kale with vegan cheese), and The Parched Brewer (pork belly, brisket, prosciutto, mozzarella and house-made BBQ sauce).

If you're feeling extra peckish, there's beer battered fish featuring the brewery's Irish red ale; slow-cooked, bourbon-glazed BBQ brisket; baby back ribs cooked in house-made Korean BBQ sauce; and grass fed, 150 day aged, Black Angus ribeye steaks served with grilled stone fruit, roasted root vegetables, roasted bone marrow and red wine jus.

If you still have room, why not try the brewery's gourmet ice-cream and sorbet made with Parched craft beers. Otherwise, sweet tooths will be satisfied with a warm chocolate brownie served with raspberry coulis and ice-cream.

Nice to know - Parched is child-friendly with a Kiddies menu that includes fish and chips, ham and cheese pizza, and nuggets and chips.
