NUG.GENERAL STORE HAS CLOSED IN JANUARY 2023 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

NUG. General Store is Brisbane's inner city one-stop-shop for gourmet sandwiches and salads, artisan pantry staples, and gorgeous homewares.

Nestled in the back corner of Bakery Lane in the Valley, NUG is a cool collaboration between Sarah Baldwin (Joy Restaurant) and Jarrod Applebee and Shane Phillips (Finnley Home).

Part deli cafe, part pantry, and part home wares store, NUG combines old world charm with new world vibes, boasting rustic stone pavers, pale lemon walls, and raw timber shelving. 

Deceptively small from the outside, the front room features a tiled deli counter where customers can choose from a rotating menu of gourmet sandwiches and salads - think chicken katsu sandos, tofu and miso-pumpkin baguettes,  potato and gluten-free pasta salads.

You'll also find timber shelves filled with artisanal pantry items such as smoked salt and sea salt rubs, gourmet sardines, organic olives, fermented hot sauce, smoked garlic kraut, cauliflower kimchi, chilli oil, dill relish and much more.  

A second, larger room boasts a huge communal table in the centre, surrounded by shelves stacked with a curated range of home wares from ceramic bowls and plates to colourful glassware.
