Marche du Macaron is a heavenly macaron boutique that brings a sweet touch of class to the Brisbane suburb of Gordon Park.

An old Queenslander shop that in a previous life was a beauty salon and a sweets shop has been converted into a glamorous black store with gleaming bay windows and planter boxes out front and, as well as the counter offerings, a splendid display of macaron towers and lollipop trees inside.

Owner/macaron maker Trish bakes everything onsite and, with family members in tow has opened the shop after years of making macarons for special occasions like weddings, christenings, milestone birthdays and corporate events, is now selling her luxe creations to the public.

What distinguishes these hand-made artisan macarons are that they are entirely gluten-free, with generous fillings, and made with ganache rather than the usual butter cream.

Macaron flavours to be found in-store can be anything from a wide range that includes chocolate, orange, salted caramel, mint choc, vanilla bean, raspberry, lavender and chocolate, strawberry, kiwi fruit and licorice and chocolate. And look out for the seasonal specials and festive macarons at Christmas and Easter.

As well as the individual macarons, that can be purchased in any quantity to eat, take home or in a gift box, a popular item is the lollipop macarons and, for special occasions the splendid macaron towers.

Nice to know – Marche du Macaron is dog-friendly, with a special ‘dog station sculpture’ out front with designer leash to attach 4-legged friends, and just happens to be located adjacent to one of Brisbane’s best off-leash dog areas along Kedron Brook.
