Luminous Festival

LUMINOUS Festival, Queensland's most iconic celebration of multiculturalism, returns to South Bank Parklands on Saturday, August 3, 2024, bigger, better and brighter than ever!

What started as a candlelight march in support of refugees and asylum seekers in 2007, this much-loved annual event has grown to become Queensland’s largest welcoming event, with the magical LUMINOUS Lantern Parade lighting up South Bank Parklands.

This year, Multicultural Australia is combining LUMINOUS and MOSAIC (a staple on Brisbane’s event calendar in spring) to create the largest multicultural event in Queensland’s history.

LUMINOUS Festival will kick off Queensland Multicultural Month, showcasing Brisbane's growing cultural diversity with delicious food and captivating performances from around the globe, culminating in the incredible LUMINOUS Lantern Parade through South Bank Parklands.
