Los Felix is a colourful garden taqueria serving authentic Baja California street food and located in South City Square, Woolloongabba.

Diners can take a seat in one of the concrete carved garden booths or one of the high or low lamplit tables on the astroturf lawn or under the bright yellow umbrellas on the side terrace.

The hole-in-the-wall style taco shack serves up delectable tacos like you'd find in street stalls on the Baja California-Mexican border as well as tostada, Tijuana loaded fries, guacamole and dips or churros, with everything made freshly from scratch on site by the chef. 

The selection of heavenly street tacos includes chicken tinga (creamed chipotle chicekn, shave cabbage & pickled onion); lamb barbacoa (braised lamb shoulder, onion, cilantro, morita smoked sauce); Baja fish (tecate beer battered snapper, chipotle mayo, pickled onion); and mushroom (crispy portobello, smoked mayo, pickled wild mushrooms).

Highly recommended too is the percado aguachile tostada (marinated dish, cilantro, cucumber, avocado & salsa mache); and the Tijuana loaded fries (chipotle mayo, pickled jalapeno, queso fresco & crunchy bacon).

To accompany are the house made hot sauces, including salsa macha, salsa verde and pickled salsa, available individually, by small selection or a whole tray (perfect for a group).

Drinks-wise, there's frozen margaritas, palomas (tequila cocktails), beers, chavelas (beer cocktail) and a small range of Mexican sodas.

Good to know - Los Felix is by the savvy owners of other South City Square bars and restaurants Casa Chow, Sasso Italiano, Purple Palm and South City Wine Bar.

Need to know - Pooches on leash are welcome to their owners in the astroturf garden. There is free short-term off street parking in the main laneway of South City Square or in the underground Woolworths car park (entry is off Deshon St).
