Laternenfest 2024

Tickets to the Brisbane Lantern Festival, Laternenfest, are now sold out. 

The Brisbane Lantern Festival (Laternenfest), a significant event on the Brisbane German cultural calendar, returns to Kangaroo Point on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

Laternenfest 2024 will include live German music, lantern making competitions (for both young and young at heart), face painting, raffles, prizes and more.

It's a fantastic family afternoon/evening outing celebrating all things German including great Bavarian food like giant pretzels and Black Forest cake.

And after the sun has set, you can put those newly made lanterns to use with the famous lantern parade.

Laternenfest is the primary annual fundraiser for the Brisbane German Language School (BGLS), a community organisation which prides itself on promoting the culture and language of German speaking countries.
