JuJu Bar & Dining

Sunnybank Hills

JUJU BAR & DINING HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

JuJu Bar & Dining is a sleek and modern restaurant in Sunnybank Hills, unlike any other found on this side of town, offering a casual, fine dining experience.

Tucked away at the rear of a shopping complex on Calam Road, enter via a darkened hallway with charred timber cladding, also known as shou sugi ban - a traditional Japanese method of charring timber with fire.

At the end of the hallway, patrons are greeted with a modern, marble topped-bar where master mixologists craft a range of signature cocktails including Momo The Geisha (Tanqueray gin, peach liqueur, cold brew oolong tea and house-made syrup) served in a tiny teapot, and JuJu's Plum - Peddler's salted plum gin, Green Fairy absinthe, fresh lemon juice, house-made syrup, Angostura bitters and egg white.

Guests can enjoy a libation in the 25-seat bar and lounge area, along with Asian-inspired bar snacks such as Szechuan peanuts, tuna tartare parilla, pork croquettes, lamb ribs, fresh fish and chilli skewers, brisket fried rice and 100gram wagyu steak served with assorted condiments.

Past the bar area, is the stunning, ambient dining room featuring floor to ceiling sheer curtains, polished concrete floors and warm wood tones - think oak and walnut - with globe pendants suspended from the ceiling.

The mouth-watering menu, heavily influenced by Japanese, Chinese and Korean cuisine, boasts share-style dishes such as shaved venison with fermented chilli and onion broth, abalone and mushroom skewers, drunken quail with pear and ginger, suckling pig with mustard greens and miso mustard, and steamed lobster with pickled seaweed.

Besides the delectable cocktails on offer, the drinks menu also includes a carefully-curated wine list, top-shelf whiskies from around the world, premium gins, and more.

Need to know - JuJu Bar is currently open Tuesday-Sunday from 5-9pm, while the dining room is yet to open. Stay tuned.
