More like a warm cheery lounge room that happens to be lined with books, Annerley Community Bookshop is a unique little not-for-profit store with polished wooden floors and comfy couches.

Largely staffed by volunteers, its income goes to support literacy programs for local refugees.

And there’s plenty of good literature to be found, as well as topics including health, sci-fi, politics, history and women’s studies as well as children’s books and even rare editions, all at bargain basement prices. In fact this may well be the cheapest second hand bookshop you’ll find in Brisbane.
